In the village, whenever someone's health deteriorates and requires treatment for a severe illness, it
is currently not possible to get appropriate medical care in the nearby district of Pithoragarh. As a
result, patients are referred to Haldwani, which is approximately a 7 to 8 hours journey. If an
ambulance is booked during such situations, it costs around 7 to 8 thousand rupees. People from poor
families in the village cannot afford such expenses for transportation.
During such critical times, when Sajjan Lal Memorial Society gets information about a sick person
needing to be taken to Pithoragarh or any other hospital, the society provides a free ambulance service.
It should be noted that the society does not own an ambulance; instead, it books an ambulance to
transport the patients to the hospitals.
Whenever Sajjan Lal Memorial Society receives information about any sick individuals, the society's objective is to provide them with all possible assistance. As soon as the society gets the information, their aim is to take the sick person to the district hospital, and if treatment is not possible there, they arrange transportation to a higher center so that the medical care for that underprivileged person can be ensured. The society's goal is to continue working in this manner in the future as well.
