Assistance for the marriage of underprivileged girls

The biggest donation one can give in the world is that of a "Kanyadaan" (the act of giving away a daughter in marriage). Even scriptures proclaim that the one who performs Kanyadaan is the greatest giver of all.

However, even today, there are many poor families in the villages who are unable to perform Kanyadaan due to financial constraints. When a poor family finalizes the marriage proposal for their daughter, they find themselves in a dilemma, hoping to borrow money from someone they know. However, they often fail to secure the required funds. Eventually, they approach banks for agricultural or personal loans, but even getting these loans is not easy. They have to reach out to many people, appeal earnestly, and seek help in order to get the loan.

Even if they manage to get the loan, it becomes difficult for them to repay it in the subsequent 10 to 20 years. In such situations, other family activities also suffer due to the burden of debt.

There are families that cannot obtain loans from banks at all. Such families are unable to fulfill their daughter's wedding wishes according to her desires. Every girl dreams of leaving her home in a grand procession, but poverty shatters those dreams. When such impoverished families come to the attention of Sajjan Lal Memorial Society, the society reaches out to them, gathers all the necessary information, and makes every possible effort to help them. This includes providing meals, tents, and wedding clothes for the bride, and other necessary items for the wedding.
